Equipment used: Canon EOS 1DS, Canon EOS 1DS MkII, 16-35mm f2.8, 85mm f1.2, Canon 580EX, Ringflash Adapter.
Ilona, Ibiza.
The first picture was taken on a spontaneous shoot on the island of Ibiza. It was one of those nights when the magic was flying in the air so I got my camera out & we took some pictures. The ringflash adapter was used with a 580EX flash, a Canon 1DS body & a 16-35mm f2.8 zoom lens at f6.3. The exposure was 3.2 seconds. This allowed for some of the pool lights to register as well as the time to create those warm trails of energy with a torch that were added to the scene while the
shutter was open.

The next two pictures were taken backstage at a fashion show in London to document Matt's make-up designs. The ringflash adapter was used with a 580EX flash, a Canon 1DS MkII body, an 85mm f1.2 lens at f2. The exposure was 1/80.

Below is a shot of Welsh model Rosie Llewellyn for whom I chose a longer exposure of 1/20 also at f2 again with the Canon 1DS MkII and the 85mm f1.2. This allowed for some of the bulbs in the background to register. I taped an orange gel in front of the lens of the flash to lower the colour temperature of the flash to bring it closer to the level of what was behind her. (This means the gel is actually inside the adapter once it is fitted).
