Key light: Qflash T5d-R fitted with a QF 67a "Wide Angle" diffuser. The light was set to achieve illumination of approx f/4.5

This image is not dissimilar to those faced by wedding photographers every time they shoot. Any good wedding photographer will tell you that the most important thing at a wedding is to keep things as uncomplicated, trusted and straight forward as possible. This really is where Qflash shines!

The T5d-R was mounted on camera with the dedicated QF70US "Flip" bracket and connected to the Canon dedicated D13w-R QTTL adapter. The flash head was fitted with the QF67a "Wide angle" diffuser and aimed up at approx., 45 degrees.

The beauty of the "wide angle" diffuser is that it projects the light out in a 180 degree field, positioning the head at the 45 degree angle allows for the flash light to bounce off walls, ceilings and even the floor. This has two main effects. The flash "bouncing around" creates its own subtle fill raising the depth of the shadows, giving a much more flattering look. The second point, in conjunction with the fact once mounted the Qflash is a good 10" to 12" from the axis of the lens, is that by angling the head in this way allows for less harsh on camera flash.

The dedicated Qflash in conjunction with the QTTL module contributes two further features to add to the quality of the image and take the worry away from this style of flash photography. The "sensor limit" feature on this unit was used to "tell" the metering system were to "expect" the subject to be, ignore the distant background and give accurate subject exposure avoiding "blow out". Further more dialling in" the built in "fill in flash" feature on the QTTL adapter to -1/3 of a stop makes a widely misunderstood lighting principle very easy to achieve, further adding to the subtlety of the shot.

The image was captured on a Canon 5D, set to aperture priority @ f/4.5 fitted with an "L" series 24-70 zoom set towards the short tele end.
